Providing emergency response and transport to our Alabama service areas is no small task. NorthStar EMS (NEMS) ensures that our ambulances are staffed by State certified EMTs, Advanced-EMTs or Paramedics based on the level of service to be provided. Additionally, NEMS must have our ambulances available, in the right place at the right time, every time. This challenge is met by using “industry standard” analysis of 911 demand, census data and geographical information to deploy and position resources.
It is the responsibility of Operations to make sure our ambulances are stocked with the most up-to-date, sophisticated medical equipment on the market. Recruiting, training and supporting a staff of medical professionals is critical to the process of responding to and managing the most serious medical emergencies.
NEMS meets the requirements placed upon us at the highest level recognized in the industry today. One of less than two hundred services in the world accredited by both the Committee on the Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) and International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) as an Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE), NEMS’ Field Operations Division is proud to serve our community with Personalized and Professional Medical Response.
